Sophia Stoyanovich

Hailed as “...a spectacular young violinist” by Seattle Times Music Critic Bernard Jacobson, American-born violinist SOPHIA STOYANOVICH has captivated audiences since her premiere at age ten with the Bremerton Symphony. She has soloed with numerous orchestra including highlights with the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall, and has performed across North America, Europe, Russia, and Vietnam.

Recent highlights include features on Classical King FM’s Northwest Focus Live Series with Sean MacLean, The University of Washington Women's Society Recital Series, and NPR's From The Top. Ms. Stoyanovich presented her first professional solo recital for the Collected Works Concert Series at age twelve, and continues as a regular recitalist in New York and at home in Seattle, Washington. Most recently, she performed as the Gold Medal winner of the 2016 International Virtuosi Competition in New York City and as finalist in the 2017 Mondavi Young Artists Competition, 2018 Adelphi Competition and 2018 Frances Walton Competition.

An avid chamber musician, Ms. Stoyanovich has performed on Juilliard’s Chamberfest Series, Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing Opening Gala and collaborated with noted chamber musicians including David Finkle, Sylvia Rosenberg, Martin Chalifour, Joseph Kalichstein and Astrid Schween and Roger Tapping of The Juilliard Quartet.

Ms. Stoyanovich has attended The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and been a Fellow at The National Youth Orchestra of the United States, Marrowstone Music Festival, Indiana University String Academy, and Interlochen Arts Academy.

Ms. Stoyanovich received her Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School in May 2018 and is pursuing her Master’s degree under the tutelage of Li Lin as recipient of the Drs. & Kassie Biros Neuman Scholarship.

Ms. Stoyanovich was Communications Director for the Versoi Ensemble’s 2018 U.S. Tour.
