THE JUURILLA COMMISSIONING GRANT

After receiving over 50 applications from composers from over 20 nations worldwide, Versoi Ensemble has commissioned seven works inspired by the composers’ nationalities, furthering our mission in Cultural Diplomacy Through Chamber Music.

“Juurilla” is a Finnish word meaning “at the roots.” Versoi Ensemble wishes to inspire composers around the world to share their cultural roots and heritage through music. We are proud to present a bouquet of works by passionate creative artists with something unique to share with the world.

The public premiere of the works took place at the Helsinki Music Center on December 3, 2022.
