MOSA TSAY is a cellist focused on presenting concerts of contemporary and chamber music. Recent notable performances include the premiere of multimedia opera “Echo Drift” at PROTOTYPE Festival with International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), the Juilliard Orchestra tour to Helsinki and Stockholm under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen in celebration of Finland’s centennial. In 2017, Mosa became a frequent collaborator with International Contemporary Ensemble for recordings and performances of music by Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Zosha di Castri.
She has curated and reconstructed listener experience for over a hundred concerts outside of traditional concert halls. In partnership with Groupmuse, she presented two sold-out concerts featuring eight cellos in a chocolate warehouse in Brooklyn and a coworking space in San Francisco. In the San Francisco Bay Area, she produced the debut concert of a contemporary cello collective in San Francisco Bay Area at the studio of renowned American sculptor Bruce Beasley.
Mosa is a graduate of The Juilliard School (Master of Music) and UC Berkeley (bachelor’s degrees, in Music and in Society and Environment).
Mosa plays a 1900 Collin-Mezin cello, on loan from a private collection.
